IPAC Heat Exchangers

Aftercoolers, separators, drain traps and coolers - by IPAC part number

IPAC Compressed Air and Industrial Heat Exchangers

Eight Catalogued Ranges, 104 Part Numbers, and the Engineered Work Around Them

IPAC of Niagara Falls, New York built the aftercoolers, separators and drain traps fitted to a generation of packaged air compressors, along with shell and tube oil coolers and closed-circuit water coolers for the plant around them. Every catalogued model is listed on this site under its IPAC part number, with the ratings, dimensions and companion parts from the original data sheets, so a unit can be identified from its nameplate and replaced with the current equivalent.

Aftercoolers

  • A Series air-cooled, 30-2,800 SCFM, no cooling water
  • 51 Series water-cooled, 15-20°F approach
  • 59 Series water-cooled, 5-10°F approach, to 11,970 SCFM

Separators & Traps

  • Horizontal centrifugal separators, 127-25,000 SCFM
  • Vertical separators for rising lines
  • SAC float drain traps, 1/2 and 1 inch

Coolers

  • STA shell and tube oil coolers, 3-8 inch shells
  • WAC packaged closed-circuit coolers to 476,000 BTU/hr
  • Custom shell and tube to ASME, CRN and PED

Replacing a Unit?

Read the nameplate, match the number - HiROSS, long-form and reseller variants included - and we quote the current equivalent.

Which IPAC Unit Do You Have?

Start with the first letter of the model number. A is an air-cooled aftercooler, W a water-cooled aftercooler, S or WS a separator, SAC a drain trap, STA an oil cooler and WAC a closed-circuit cooler. The Model Number Guide decodes the rest.

Then the length of the number. IPAC and its successor use short forms such as W0110 and S04H; compressor builders and older nameplates often carry the long form - W0110FA000, S04HAUH0 - and HiROSS-era units read S04HAMH0 or S01CB0H0. They are the same units, and the cross-reference lists every variant we know of.

Then call. A part number, or failing that the shell diameter, overall length and connection sizes, is enough for us to confirm a replacement. 1-805-484-2992 or Sales@HeatX.com.
