The WAC Series is a self-contained closed-loop cooler. Warm water or glycol from the process returns to the unit, the pump drives it through a multi-pass copper-tube aluminum-fin radiator while fans draw ambient air across the coil, and the cooled fluid goes back out. Because the loop is closed, the process water stays clean and treated, there is no evaporation and no make-up, and the unit can stand outdoors. Standard packages run to 476,000 BTU/hr; larger builds to 3,000,000 BTU/hr are engineered to order.

Construction

Coil

  • Copper tubes, aluminum fins, multi-pass. The size digits in the model number (08, 12, 16 ... 75) follow the same core sizes as the A Series air-cooled aftercoolers.

Pump and controls

  • Close-coupled centrifugal pump with a starter in a NEMA enclosure, an expansion tank and a three-way bypass valve for temperature control.

Frame

  • Steel or aluminum casing on a structural base; frame letter A, B or C in the model number indicates the frame size.

Options

  • Glycol service, low-ambient fan control, larger pumps for longer runs, dual-pump stations and custom capacities.
